Physical activity is good for you. It’s also a great way to spend time outdoors, socializing, doing something that makes you feel good about yourself. I highly encourage you to find an activity that you enjoy, invite a friend and do it!
Set yourself up for success.
Keep it simple and specific. Ask yourself: when, where, what, with who will you exercise with? Example: At 5:30 am, I will go to the LA Fitness with Shelly and we will swim 2,000 yds.
What is the minimum requirement? For example: I just need to walk for 10 minutes. OR I just need to get to the gym, it doesn’t matter how much or little I do once I get there.
Plan for success but what if you don’t succeed? Have a back-up plan to be successful….
Good back-up plan: 20 jump squats, 30 sec plank, 20 sit-ups, 10 pushups x 2 sets. Better than nothing! It is important to take action so the brain continues to build pathways consistently and you receive the positive reinforcement. This is a process of consistency.
